ASPEN

Aspen, Colorado

A 130-year-old miner's cottage that almost wasn't.

Built in 1890 for a worker at the Smuggler Mine. Moved from Hopkins Avenue in 1973 when its block was being cleared, lifted onto a flatbed and rolled four streets north to where it stands today. Aspen treats the property as a survivor, not a relic.

The film cuts between the cottage as it is now and 1973 archival photographs from the move itself, the house in transit, watched from the curb. Historic preservation isn't a footnote here, it's the structure of the film. A buyer who lands on this listing is buying something that was almost demolished, and is instead intact.
